With over 95 percent of students living on campus, Davidson is committed to providing quality facilities for housing and community, centering on three words: freedom, responsibility and honor.

The center of college community life, the Knobloch Campus Center combines the Alvarez College Union and the Duke Family Performance Hall to create a gathering place for students, faculty, staff and visitors.

The Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion (CSDI) in the Alvarez College Union houses CDI administrative offices and has a student-centered lounge that strives to be a community building space for diverse students.

The LGBTQIA+ Lounge, affectionately known on campus as Lavender Lounge, is located in lower level of Belk Residence Hall. The lounge is open to LGBTQIA+ students and their allies who support diverse and inclusive gender and sexual identities.

The primary dining facility on campus, Vail Commons is located at the center of campus with idyllic views of the meadow inside Patterson Court.

Patterson Court Houses

Home to the fraternities and eating houses on campus, Patterson Court comprises 13 small houses built on a semi-circle behind Vail Commons.

As a residential college, Davidson houses roughly 95 percent of its student body in 12 residence halls and seven apartment complexes located throughout campus.

Martin Court is a residential area for more than 300 students, comprised of seven apartment buildings with four or five person apartments with kitchens.

A stone building hidden on the far east of campus off Grey Road, Erwin Lodge is used for small gatherings for the campus and local community.

The Carnegie Guest House is a beautifully furnished retreat for campus and community guests with eight sleeping rooms featuring private baths and a complimentary continental breakfast.
