Staff Phased Retirement
The Staff Phased Retirement benefit will allow a staff member to request to move to a half-time position and receive pro-rated pay while keeping most full-time benefits.
More specifically, a staff member may elect to fully retire one year, two years, or three years after entering the Voluntary Phased Retirement Program.
Eligibility
Staff who have at least 10 years of full-time, continuous service and who have a combined age plus service equal to or greater than 70 are eligible to apply for the program. If a staff member is at least 60 at the end of the phased retirement term, he or she will retain the right to be covered under the college's retiree medical and dependent tuition benefits. Application Process
To apply for and commence discussions about the program, please read the entire Program Summary document, below and submit an Expression of Interest Form (PDF) to your Division Leader. After initial discussions with your managers, if you wish to go forward please requests a Program application from Human Resources. If a work plan is mutually agreed upon and receives the approval of the division Division Leader, the employee and the college will enter into a written, binding agreement.
